To win a set, a player must win at least six games by at least two margins. In some tournaments, the ‘tie-break’ rule is applied. The ‘tie-break’ rule is a special game that applies when the score is 6-6 in the relevant set. Whoever wins the tie-break is deemed to have won the set 7-6.
